Nice beginning. I like how it grows but I think the chimes stay there for too much time and they lost their initial appeal. But it's just my humble opinion. Loved the C section and loving reading the full score while it's played. Section H is really cool!

No further complains about percussion, it totally fits to me. This sound is very fresh to me and I really like it. I am usually overly nitpicky with finals; congratulations with this one, I liked it too.

Thank you so much for sharing this! it is always a pleasure to listen to solid, well-written pieces like this one.

Kind regards!!

A very cool jazz work - reminds me of a smokey room in a basement cafe - 1950's - 1960's.  Did you do a piano sketch first?  It feels as though it could be condensed to a smaller ensemble - maybe a trio or quartet ... piano, string bass sax trombone.  In would make it (feel) more intimate .... for the listener.

Nice job!

No i dont do any kind of sketch work before I write. I normally just think of a main motif, in this case the tenor solo introduction, and develop that melody over the course of a piece, and just write what feels write section by section. Lots of going back and listening to see what the piece is calling for next. I wrote this for a specific ensemble, and all of the parts are one player so its more of an 8-9 person ensemble not including percussion.
