Youtube Channels?

Featured Replies

Hey, any cool youtube channels you guys like that are music related?

I personally like a few, here are some:

https://www.youtube.com/@brandonacker

https://www.youtube.com/@TheCharismaticVoice

I really like:

https://www.youtube.com/@DavidBennettPiano

https://www.youtube.com/@QuarterTuned

https://www.youtube.com/@AdamNeely

https://www.youtube.com/@SignalsMusicStudio

amongst others!

My personal favourite are these:

https://youtube.com/@DavidGozaTheAtheistCodger

https://youtube.com/@richardatkinson2108

These two channels are amazing for its analytical content! Freakingly amazing.

https://youtube.com/@AshishXiangyiKumar

This is a great channel mainly on piano music. But it's quite inactive now.

https://youtube.com/@musicianseacow

This is a great analytical channel as well, in a more popular approach, but it's in Chinese since it's made by a Taiwan youtuber.

There are many others but these are my favourite ones.

Henry

My absolute favorite is https://www.youtube.com/@8bitMusicTheory

https://www.youtube.com/@DBruce also has some really great content

https://www.youtube.com/@KaraComparetto does piano arrangements/covers of popular video game music that I really like

https://www.youtube.com/@NahreSol also makes some really great piano content especially about model writing in the styles of other composers (usually using "Happy Birthday" as a token example)

These guys are really funny

https://www.youtube.com/@twosetviolin

You gotta watch this episode: The World's FASTEST (and most INACCURATE) VIOLINIST!

LOL that's sacrilegious playing!

NEW "FASTEST VIOLINIST IN THE WORLD" IS EVEN FASTER (and more sacrilegious)

This is even more AMAAAZING!!

Simply put, TwosetViolin are the best.

I know some of the aforementioned ones but I often listen to this cool dude, he's top to me and I am grateful of his work:
• Gamma1734 - YouTube

Adding some more that some of you might find cool. I am not sure if they fit since they don't talk about music, they just play it. I honestly don't usually watch music theory videos nor music-related videos, just music:

• Jonathan Young - YouTube
• Caleb Hyles - YouTube
• CharlesBerthoud - YouTube
• Zander Zon - YouTube
• Listen to musical notes - YouTube
• The Flaming Piano - YouTube

These ones are smaller but I find their content nice:
• María Laura Del Pozzo - YouTube (in Spanish)
•
pianothings - YouTube (Impressive format)
• Richard Noel - YouTube
• AM Valkyrie - YouTube
• Romano Benetello - YouTube
• Michael Ashjian - YouTube
• Charles Richmond Davis - YouTube
• Duo Pianistico di Firenze - YouTube
• nickariondo1 - YouTube

Many YC members have channels too!
♫ Henry Ng - YouTube
♫ Sean Brown - YouTube
♫ Theodore Servin - YouTube
♫ TD MUSIC - YouTube (Tom Dahlemburg)
♫
ComposedBySam - YouTube
♫ Brandon Schwab - YouTube
♫ Michael Bates - YouTube

(And I'm sure I'm leaving a lot of them out but these are the ones which came to my mind right now)

And some unknown pianist that just appeared in my feed lol:
• Франсис Кръстева - YouTube

Kind regards!!

I guess I should also mention this channel:  https://www.youtube.com/@gmm5380 ... our very own gmm has his own channel!  Where he's posted some piano impromptus never before heard on young composers!

His technique is great and I once suscribed his channel! It's just later on I got lazy and didn't look at his videos anymore.

Same lol

I love this channel. He talks about different topics from early music history (Medieval and Renaissance mostly), using direct sources from those eras. Really interesting stuff. It just shows how there is to learn about music of the past!

https://www.youtube.com/@EarlyMusicSources

These are some of my favorite music related channels

Philip Daniel - YouTube This is a composer I know. He's got some very interesting music.

Classical Entertainment System - YouTube Classical music with video soundfonts.

TwoSetViolin - YouTube Ya'll probably know these guys.

AlmaDeutscher - YouTube Prodigy composer.

Early Music Sources - YouTube Talks about early music. Duh.

GIDI - YouTube Classical music reaction channel.

This is a great channel about orchestration I've been watching lately (with custom terminology I don't hear used anywhere else describing different theories of how an orchestration is put together - such as the "device" which is the combination of instruments playing the melody, while the "texture" is the combination of instruments playing the accompaniment either underlaying, interlaying or overlaying the material in relation to the melody):  https://www.youtube.com/@thesecretsoforchestration

I’m surprised I haven’t seen this before. Looks invaluable.

I second Adam Neely. The guy is brilliant and explains complex stuff in a manner that is easily understood.

I skimmed through this thread and did not see this channel mentioned. This is another brilliant musician who I love. He has a love for all classic pop and rock. He has a collection I would die for of records and guitars and all sorts. Love his run through on songs when he talks about their structure and their form. Love his lists. Love his stories.

He also has a bunch of kids who are all insanely good at ear training.  LoL  What I wouldn't give to have a father like him!  Haha
