Sonata Leidsturm, Mvt II

This doesn't strictly follow any structural form and is basically a fantasy movement. Tried being experimental with the harmony. Constructive criticism is warmly welcome! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, nice piece. For me the form is clear: ABA.

The contrasting part at 3:08 is good.

Also, I find it tonal... Good work.

Dear @ComposedBySam,

My opinion is the same as @Luis Hernรกndezย that it is a ternary movement!

Nice three part structure and voice exchange in b.49! When the music modultates into b.69, it gives me the feeling of @Omicronrg9, cool and chic! However I don't think the appoggiatura in b.72 can be played without a mess of pedal sound. Nice change of texture in the next section

For the recording itself is it played by yourself? It's always great to have real soundย  here, let alone the one played by composer himself! But I think the right hand is somewhat low in volume, making the melody less clear.

In 0:58 it seems it should be octaves in the right hand, rather than only one note in the melody.

Overall a beautiful movement! Many lovely moments and sounds!

Thank you so much for the well thought outand valuable feedback! This is actually midi playback using a vst and hence there are discrepancies in phrasing and volume. It seems that there were some rendering problems

i actually thought that is real piano! Really good mixing though.

It is nice, but I feel like your main focus in development is not motivic but harmonic.ย  I think it would be much more lucid and musically satisfying if the melody took the lead and determined the changes in harmony and not the other way around.ย  Very often it seems like there's nothing interesting going on while you go through the motions of changing chords.ย  It's important to not forget what catches and holds the listeners attention in music and harmonic changes alone just don't cut it for me.ย  Also, it is very often difficult to hear the melody.ย  I think, being the most important part of the music, it should be brought out in high relief in comparison to other notes which aren't as important.ย  I think it is important to balance the less-indispensable elements of the music from the indispensable ones - to create a hierarchy of importance in the loudness of the various elements.ย  Thanks for sharing and I hope to hear more!

You're absolutely right and that was also my main grievance with this piece after I had done writing it. I did adjust the volume of the melody and attached an mp3. It sounds a bit better now probably. With musescore 4 it is really hard to seperate dynamics for LH and RH.
