Untitled Cuban sax and piano piece

Featured Replies

Hi all.

This was my first attempt at using loops in GarageBand.

The sax is made from standard Apple loops, and the percussion is automated: so the only thing that's actually me is the piano!

Feels like cheating really. Not sure it's a good way to make music.

Wow it is so enjoyable! I love that saxophone even it's a cheating sound!😅 It would be better if there's a solo jazz on piano I guess? But this is so soothing to listen to. Thanks for sharing!

I'm highly against this, but it no different than samples being used in rap music and other electronic art forms.

Would have been cool to cut the sax out or just have it play hits so we could hear the piano get some time to solo.

Agree, that would be a better way to use these resources.

There's also the Live Loops feature, where you can add your own material, and mix it in real time without losing the beat.

Although what I made is very repetitive; I like the audio quality. It sounds more professional than work I've produced with other apps.

Also gave me a bit of practice writing a piano accompaniment.

I had the volume at 70% due to the recommendation of the last post I reviewed. My ears exploded :(.

The piano sounds a bit off the road beat at the beginning but then it gets nicer. Reading the comments, it seems that your part is only the piano, but anyway it sounds good, though it would have been nice to have more piano. This seems like something you could easily improve. If you get eager to, don't hesitate to post another try!

Kind regards,
Daniel–Ømicrón.

Sorry about the loud volume.

Thats just the way it came out of GarageBand!

Probably won't do any more work on this piece, as it was just an experiment to see what I could do with off the shelf loops.
