Midday, Sunset and Midnight

Featured Replies

Hello there, I joined this forum just today and this is my first time ever sharing my music onlineย ๐Ÿ™‚.

I'm an italian student (so I'm sorry if I make some english mistake) who likes playing piano and composing in his free time. I started writing music just some months ago and i LOVE it, it's the best way that I have to express myself.ย

I was honestly scared about the idea of sharing my music (and maybe I'm still a bit scared), especially because I listened to some of the compositions in this forum and they are A LOT better than mine. I know my music isn't great, but I really want to improve so in the end I decided to try sharing it.ย

These are three compositions that I made with the same ispiration, the sky, but looking at it in different moments: Midday, Sunset and Midnight. I hope you enjoy itย ๐Ÿ˜….

Hi Anto! I really enjoyed your music, especially "Midday". The brilliant use of ascending harp gave a relaxed and a "soaring" feeling, which illustrated the title "Flying Through the Wind" quite well. My only suggestion of improvement would be that the ending should be longer as I feel it's a bit abrupt. (Maybe it's the DAW's fault)ย

I'm really glad that you have shared these 3 beautiful pieces with us! I joined the forum about a week ago but is still not daring enough to share my works...ย

I am glad you have shared your pieces to us! You don't have to be afraid to share your music to the forum even if you find your music not great enough. First they are lovely! More importantly even if you think they are not great, other members can provide other perspectives to your music and crtiques to them, that's what you can learn most!

I enjoy the Midday very much! The harp, winds and strings mix up very well and is lovely! I just want a perfect cadence in D major at the end though haha!

Is that alto flute in Sunset? I love your modilation to D major in 1:16 as it's the key of Midday! The piano solo is quite cool as well!

Midnight has great harmony with those suspensions in the opening. The violin melody is lovely! That build up at the end is great and I wish it's longer! The ending it's quite abrupt for me and I hope you can linger a bit longer in the Bb major and ends peacefully with the Ocean!

Thanks for sharing your piecea and jpining us! Please feel free to take your time to view other members' pieces here and possibly review them! This may attract other members to review your pieces as well!

Haha again you don't have to afraid to share your works here! No one will eat you for that haha! If you think they are bad, sharing your pieces help you learn most! If they are good, it will for sure bring you pleasure seeing the postive feedbacks and reviews!

You can also review more pieces on here as well! Your opinion is crucial as well!

Thank you @Saltypenguin, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, the ending is abrupt, because I had no idea of how to end it; I know I have to fix that ๐Ÿ˜….

First of all thanks @Henry Ng Tsz Kiuย for listening to it!ย

I understand that I really have to work about how to end a composition ๐Ÿ˜…. Midnight was actually the hardest one to create for me, I never tried to composeย  "calm" music like that, so I had some difficulties, especially in the ending. I changed that part completely like three times and every time I wasn't satisfied with the result, so when finally it turned out a bit nice I thought "this is it, I won't work on this piece anymore". So yeah, the ending is abrupt and I know it ๐Ÿ˜….

By the way thanks to both of you for listening to my music and giving me feedbacks! It was my first time sharing music, and I definitely don't regret it! ๐Ÿ™‚

It's always great when we try to compose something different! It will be difficult but it will be always a good challenge that will help you improve most!

That can be very difficult when you are finding the destination of your piece! For some of my pieces I know the ending anyway and never change it, just finding ways to link the passage to that ending reasonably; others I really have to write reasonably for the ending as it will be the most memorable part!

Haha that's the fate of an artist! We will always be unsatifactory on any small details in our pieces! But sometimes you will find the exact "best" way to end it with intuituons and inspirations, and it can be magical! You can always find time to revise your pieces when you want!
