Hello @Aaron_Bob,

Welcome to the forum!

If these are your first compostions they are very good attempt! We all begin with impurities in our music and I'm sure my first piece is worse than yours! Great job on these!

For both pieces I hear influence of Mozart. Rhythmically they are fluent!

If you want tips, I will suggest you to notice the harmonies. Sometimes your melody and accompaniment are not having the same harmony which results in clashes not typical in the classical style you are writing. E.g. in the Allegro b.7, RH melody is playing in B minor while LH in A major, b.11 RH in D major while LH in E major. It's not they are forbidden but I will suggest you keep it simple!

Another thing is chord progression and modulation. There are differeny function in chords and chords which are smoother to each other. For example you modulate from A major to E major in the Allegro which are close keys and more natural than the one from E major to G minor, which will be quite abrupt if not prepared well!

Voice leading is also important for constructing melody. E.g. the melody from b.15 to 18 will be difficult to follow since the leaps are quite wide and not smooth enough.

know that i'm bad at harmony and modulation, but I'm trying to improve every week.

I really love your attitude! Just keep trying and listening to more music including those from the masters as well as members here! I am sure you will learn from them!

Thanks for sharing and hope you enjoy your stay in YC!

Hi

I find the Allegro more coherent in a classic style and in terms of harmony.

Also the writing is more idiomatic for the piano.

Hi I'm Aaron and this is my first post here, I'm quite new at composing

A bit late already, but welcome to the forums.

Some questions if you don't mind:
• What software do you use for composing? The style of the score is curious. I would suggest you to download Musescore 4 or 3 if you want a better sound.
• What would you say it's the best of these two pieces you brought to us? What's the one you personally prefer?

As Henry said, please feel free to share it in the forums whenever you please. Don't hesitate to ask if you need help/assistance on any of those matters. Feel free to comment on anyone's pieces too, even if you feel you cannot provide accurate feedback, most users would thank you for your words ^^.

Kind regards,
Daniel–Ømicrón.
