A happy little ukulele thingy to show I'm not always melancholy (my "Doom-n-Gloom in D minor" piece comes to mind).

Enjoy.

For me many of your pieces are very happy haha! I for sure enjoy your pieces very much and this one is no exception. Your flute sound is always funny and very enjoyable in itself. I love how you add the bubble sound track in 1:26 and possibly people talking and laughing while drinking (?). I don't know why but I think they are talking in Cantonese anyway. The laugh at the end is very funny and witty as well!

Thanks for sharing!

AngelCityOutlaw,

Thanks for the helpful information about the bass.

I always have trouble getting the bass levels to where it doesn't overpower the mix.

I mix in my flat response studio headphones which I know your not supposed to do, but it's either that or rely on my TV speakers.

That's the choice I'm faced with.

Thanks again for the very helpful comment.

Henry,

Yeah... me and that silly flute-y thing I use so often for the melody in my stuff.

The initial idea was to use it as a guide so I wouldn't forget the melody.

Then it kinda grew on me and so now I just try and work it in knowing it makes so much of my stuff sound kind of same-y arrangement wise.

Oh well, it's not that I'm making music to sell to anyone. Like I've mentioned in other posts, I make music only for my own ears as a form of therapy.

If other people like my music then yippie! that makes me happy.

I'm just not into the kind of contemporary pop music that surrounds us these days. Too much emphasis on vocal style and less on well crafted melodies, if you ask me.

I try and avoid using terms like "good music" and "bad music" and rather use terms like "interesting music" or "non-interesting music".

This is, of course, just my own take and is at the end of the day just my own opinion.

But who's asking me!??? *hehehe*, I'm just a grumpy relic of old school melodies and arrangements.

Thanks for your kind comments Henry, you always make me feel...well.. less self conscious about my musical roots.

🙂

-Rick
