Spring Night

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

Here's my new piece of music, Spring Night. I'm really interested in your opinion!

Very beautiful!

Especially enjoyed the surprising key modulations near the end.

The rendition works well too, with lots of reverb.

Hi @olivercomposer,

There are many flat sixth of Eb here which is great for both the harmonic flavour and modulation. For me the ending is beautiful with added motion in the left hand! The contrasting middle section is in minor key which is good, but I hope there's contrast in texture and dynamics here, maybe just a littpe bit is ok since the piece is short and beautiful!

Thanks for sharing and I'm happy you are presenting us piano works here!

Henry

The modulation at 2'45" is especially gorgeous! Definitely my favourite moment in the piece.

Beautiful. I dig the heavy reverb too, I think it fits well with what you wrote.

I like the modal interchange as well.  The picture makes it look more like a winter night though!  I think it fits well as a winter or spring night imo.  You have a very unique melodic voice which is distinctive only to you regardless of whether you are writing piano or orchestral music.  This one doesn't modulate and ends in the same key in which it started which isn't bad as the music is quite effective despite that with plenty of harmonic variety.  Great job and thanks for sharing!
