June 11, 20232 yr Wow, a very good opening melody and effective dynamic changes of the whole orchestra. In the second part (1:00...) the changes are very abrupt (I don't know if it's an effect of the virtual sound).
June 13, 20232 yr Hi @Nazariy, That's a really graceful waltz! It sometimes reminds me of Tchaikovsky's sadness hidden under the beautiful melodies and harmonic progressions. The opening melody is very beautiful that I won't mind having it repeat many more times. I love the imitations between the first and second violin in many places, e.g. b.200. Your interplay of voices is very smooth and very suitable for this florid waltz! I love your change to pizz. in b.102 and other later passages, it makes the waltz lighter instead of getting heavy and moloto espressivo all the time! The con sord. section in b.150 will be very beautiful if it's played real life, I can imagine. I love all your modulations, but particularly the one in b.222 when you modulate from Eb minor, then to a diminished 7th chord and back to A major!! Sometimes using a dim 7 chord to modulate seems arbitrary for me but here it's magical! The duplet rhythm introduced in the middle section, combined with the original triple meter in later reprise really helps vary the texture and making the movement even more complicated. I love this! One last thing: I absolutely love how you emphasize the iii chord at the end!!! It's beautiful to use a iii chord if used properly, and particularly since it's the C# minor chord, my favourite key! In b.173, there's a tone clash of F#(2nd Violin) and F natural (1st Violin). Is that intentional? I am fine with either of the choices but not both. Thanks for sharing this wonderful waltz to us!
