Brass Quintet Music! (Unfished though)

Featured Replies

Hello...

This is a piece I am writing for brass quintet. I just stopped at the point where it ends, because I couldn't figure out how to write any more measures. Finale 2006 wouldn't let me add more measures...

How do I go onto the next page!?!

Thank you.

Heshi,

Daniel

Read the manual.

It's cute. Just wanted to let you know about those octave jumps you have written for trumpet. I'd say maybe 1 in 100 trumpet players would be able to play that cleanly, very difficult. Might I suggest splitting between 1st and 2nd.

By the way, use the "measure tool" to add more measures. With it, right click on the measure where you want to add more and select "add measures." Then just type in how many you want.

I play the trumpet, you were right, maybe a little too hard.

Anyway, thanks for the tips. I'll probably split the octave jumps like you said.

Either that or I'll get Wynton Marsalis or Allen Vizzutti to play it. lol

I've been playing trumpet for nearly eight years and, although I don't have my horn handy to try those lines, I can soudly say that playing sixteenth note ocatave jumps at 120 in semitone intervals is no easy endeavor. The second part would definately be more difficult since the register is much lower. I might be able to play the first part if I worked at it for a while, but it would be some time before it would be really clean. The second part is almost always to going to sound really muddy at that tempo, but like I said, there are some really amazing trumpet players that can do it. If you can, then much respect to you, not easy to play.
