Black Swan

Featured Replies

This piece is work in progress. It is entitled Black Swan, and its made to represent a lonliness and solitude that turns into hope and determination.

Please give feedback! Thanks

Some fun orchestration choices here: there's a good variety of dark orchestral colours (tubular bells, that weird sound around 1:32 whose origins I can't ascertain (maybe strings playing col legno?)) in play here, so it's obvious you've been doing this for a while; the supple tutti around the 2:55 mark, supplanted by a good selection of percussion instruments, caught me pleasantly off guard; and the reasonably timed harmonies throughout the piece really keep things tight and interesting throughout. The only fault I could find here without nitpicking every little detail in your melody or instrumentation (which I can't do, because there's no score) would probably be your lack of structural development, but that probably wasn't on your mind when you wrote the piece so it's fine (i.e. I would've loved to hear it go on this way for longer! 😉).

You achieved a great sound nonetheless, and you should be proud having written this piece. Looking forward to more! 💪

I really liked this pizza. Although the sounds are not quite perfect enough to denote the potential of the work, it sounds very good. And I think it conveys that feeling.
