Triple Crab Canon a 6 voci

Featured Replies

I share with you a triple crab canon for 6 voices. I hope you like it.

This has been perhaps the most challenging canon I have ever composed.

Please a make PDF so this can be studied for critique and analysis.

Hello @Víctor Parra Avellaneda and welcome to the forum!

This is definitely a challenging exercise and an accomplishment for sure!  And when all three canons are played at once it really shines!  There are some notation nitpicks:  pizzicato strings don't get staccato markings.  For strings staccato markings in fast passages mean to play spiccato and for plucked strings don't add any extra meaning.  It's redundant and nobody ever uses it for strings that are already playing pizzicato since the decay of the sound is already fast enough to guarantee a separation between notes and the player doesn't have control over the length of the decay after the string is plucked anyway.  Overall an impressive piece but nonetheless characterized by a certain lack of musicality since the emphasis is so heavily on its technical aspects.  Thanks for sharing!
