Three Short Pieces for Piano

Featured Replies

This arrangement of pieces is meant to emote specific feelings related to the topic. For the first movement, the idea of constantly running around is the theme. With the melody becoming more complex, the feeling of the first movement is humor with a touch of uncertainty. The second movement is about practicing in the band hall with all of its distractions. The third movement is about living next, and with, a drunkard. I hope yall enjoy.

Hello @KnowRud.

These are some very funny little pieces!  I think the cartoonish charm of the first movement made that one stand out to me.  I liked the alternation of the bass/accompaniment between B and F.  That tritone made it sound very bombastic and flamboyant.  I wish you had kept that feature into the "Jensen Waltz" section (which I take is meant to be both a waltz in 3/4 and 6/8 at the same time?  A poly-rhythmic waltz?  Am I right?  LoL)  Thanks for sharing!

Hello @PeterthePapercomPoser.

Thanks for listening and the first part is meant to be humorous.

Interesting.

The treatment (speed and sound) makes them sound quite mechanical, like pianola or piano-roll.
I really like the last one with that insistent dissonance.

Thanks! The piece definitely has its characteristics. I appreciate the listen.
