Rêverie Étoilée(piano and viola)

Featured Replies

Here is an other attempt at composing for piano and viola. I think it took me 2-3 hours to compose roughly.

Any feedaback as always is highly welcomed and appriciated.

Thanks.

I like the piece, it feels very dreamy. One thing I would do to improve it is to make the piano accompaniment faster and more impressionist (like in un sospiro or un barque sur le ocean)

Sounds great.
I probably would have made some different choices, but it's a matter of taste (namely the arpeggio chords in the accompaniment so abundant, that I find them monotonous).

Hi @Bjarke!

This piece sounds like it would have been a great submission to our "Dreamscapes" competition.  It's for a combination of 1 monophonic (Viola) and 1 polyphonic (Piano) instrument and sounds quite dreamy!  To be nit-picky, the way you've written this rhythm is a bit confusing:

Even though the piece is in 6/8 this rhythm is a 3/4 hemiola and so should be organized as three pairs of 8th notes.  Thanks for sharing!
