Flute concerto

hi, i've been composing for a little over a year now, and i've just began my first flute concerto. I'm a big fan of romantic and modern music, so i tried to add a few elements from both eras into my peice. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

Well... the two eras overlap a whole lot, so it shouldn't be too hard to include elements of both. Listen to the impressionists, or someone like Prokofiev, or Stravinsky.

If you want any further suggestions, I'd recommend actually posting what you have so far.
