benyamind Posted April 3, 2025 Posted April 3, 2025 (edited) Hi, The following is a microtonal composition I'd like to share with you. It's made in 31 equal divisions of the octave, a system that has access to lots of harmonics and allows for interesting harmony. It's a system I've been working with over the years and I often go for spectral soundscapes, like this one. If you have any questions, do ask. I hope you enjoy the sound. Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted April 3, 2025 Posted April 3, 2025 Hi @benyamind, That’s interesting, the microtone does create some special effect. @PeterthePapercomPoser must be interested to find this as well haha. Henry Quote
PeterthePapercomPoser Posted April 6, 2025 Posted April 6, 2025 Hello @benyamind! I find the harmonies in this otherworldly and rich. The choral soundscape washes over with the thick church-like reverb. For a piece that is comprised of only chords it sure is quite interesting! I admit that on first listen I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. It's definitely grown on me. Thanks for sharing! Quote
benyamind Posted April 11, 2025 Author Posted April 11, 2025 @Henry Ng Tsz Kiu @PeterthePapercomPoser Thank you for listening. I understand that it might take some adjustment to appreciate the sound. It also touches a more dissonant, or atleast uncommon range in the 31-EDO system. Glad it is an enjoyable listen. Have a good day! Quote
