I wrote this piece entitled the Dissident and I just had to have the expertise guitar work of Jack Wright on this composition...

The Dissident...

intresting, first part sounds a bit like. A movie theme, the strings is a bit bond-like and, yeah it sounds like the theme to a spy film or something. I like the precussion, really good work on that one!

The guitar solo, really good. I love the sound of it, it's a good thing it's there to becuse otherwise it would have been rather boring at the end- this way something really happens.

What did oyu do with the comp? it sounds really simple, is it simple or are my ears mistaken?

One thing I don't like that much, is the transition between guitar and the new theme, the middle play between guitar and trumpet. I don't know why but I don't think it fits really, that's my first impression anyway.

Good clarinet play, it's in the perfect range of the clarinet and sounds really good with the comp too.

Is it 1 or 2 clarinets?

also a good end to it, slowly tuning out- like a movi theme :P

over all, a good piece, intresting new technique in the precussion but it sounds good to me. I belive though it's a piece you like, or hate, it's good but for some people I guess it can turn to, "exotic" or "creative".

But good work Milillo

Hello Mr. Voyager,

I thank you for taking the time to listen to the Dissident...

The backdrop for the guitar is just two notes....The strings are a bit more involved, but nothing to get ruffled over. Yes it is simple relatively speaking.

I used one clarinet, where in the beginning I used Bass clarinet briefly...

I respect your opinion on the trumpet part.

I only go where my ear tells me to. It was logical sequence for my ear.

I'm happy that you dug Jack Wright on guitar. He is my favorite guitar player online or mainstream...Of course there's Frank Zappa too...

Thank you again sir...

Hey Mike, I finally got around to checking this place out. SOme interesting thoughts here, although I think I'm a bit out of my comfort zone here. I'm gonna go see what's at the jazz forum down there.
