November 16, 200619 yr What? What am I doing in this section? Am I lost? Alas, no. I am here because my school's drama department commissioned me to make a rock song for a theatre production we're putting on. And here it is! The lyrics are: I don't have any place to go... But I'm just mov-in' on! They told me it'd be good here may-be, Dad and Mom might get a-long here may-be, Dad might e-ven get a job here may-be. Now we're mo-vin' on from he-re, Don't have a bet-ter place to go, No place is worse though Mov-in' on! Don't know where to go, But I'm go-in', go-in', gone! You'll have to follow along as best you can since I don't have a score available for it at the moment. NOTE: In the recording, the loudest guitar is substituting for the vocal part. Nothing special, but enjoy! :o Movin' On - Mp3
November 30, 200619 yr Very different. Very well written though. I was actually headbanging. I forgot how entertaining that kind of music is. =) 11/10
November 30, 200619 yr Great great job! I loved it soooo much. And, I don't even know what to say!! I don't even listen to this style of music. You really know how to write. Now, if I could be that versatile!! I agree with Eddwin-- 11/10
December 1, 200619 yr Author Hey everyone! Good news - I got two singers from school to help me out with making a recording of the song with lyrics, so here's a brand new version of the recording avec singers :o Please enjoy. Oh, and try to ignore the actual lyrics...I hate them and they were a pain to set to music :P Movin On - Final
December 1, 200619 yr To be perfectly honest, the live recording sound almost like karaoke night, it just wasn't the voice I imagined for the piece, no offense to anyone.. However, as a song, its very well done, and I have to admit, I really don't have anything negative to say about the composition. I give you highest applause.
December 1, 200619 yr Author Thanks, yeah the singer was actually sick :P so that might explain why it doesn't sound too good. That and the fact that she's just a student at my school, not a pro singer or anything. Still, considering the circumstances and the fact that she had only a day to practice it, I'm fairly pleased with the outcome - it'll work well in the play.
