Winter's arrival

You're a square-head, but still: I liked your song! Love the basson part especially :)

P.S.: Ribbit! Ribbit!

You definitely captured the foreboding arrival of winter in this piece. You can really sense the creep and drudge of the cold. I for one love the beauty of snow but absolutely hate winter! :)

You made great use of the orchestration as well. The orcehstration helped to create a sense of emptiness while listening.

thanks for input, any other thoughts?

I like it. It starts almost like tiptoes before swelling quite ominously. There were moments that reminded me of the Middle-Eastern-tinge that cropped up in parts of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. I must say, though, that I see more of a battle than winter sweeping over everything, but maybe weather is different in Canada. Or maybe weather with snow is different in general. This is the first year I'm living in a place that regularly snows, and it hasn't snowed yet.

Good work :)

for a piece of this length I'd have liked to have felt a little more harmonic movement away from the tonic.

it was quite interesting orchestrally, colourful.

Humorous. I was very amused by this piece - it moves well and is orchestrated very effectively to convey your message. It tells a story and it is easy to follow.

Great to be Canadian, eh? Well done, mate, this is a great piece of music. Nice recording too - could have used a little more tweaking but maybe that's just the low bit-rate I'm hearing.

Keep it up!
