Pirates 2

So what does everyone think of the Pirates of the Caribbean 2 soundtrack? Or other Hans Zimmer works?

I think it's colourless, boring and lacking in just about everything that makes music worth listening to. ;)

I feel like Hans Zimmer's getting tired. His collaborative work is still really strong, but I feel like his solo efforts (like Pirates of the Caribbean 2) are just going down the drain.

Klaus Badelt's work on the original film's score was really strong, because it matched the film almost perfectly. Hans Zimmer's "epic" scoring style just doesn't match up to Badelt's "swashbuckling."

To hear a some good collaborations: Gladiator, with Lisa Gerrard and Klaus Badelt, and Batman Begins, with James Newton Howard.

Incidentally, for great film-scoring, listen to James Newton Howard's solo effort in Lady In the Water. It's AMAZING.

Hans Zimmer has some nice stuff. As does Badelt, but I still prefer Silvestri for movie scores. Just my opinion

I didn't notice a difference between the music from Pirates 1 and Pirates 2.

I liked the soundtrack a lot. I personally love Zimmer's work, and don't feel he's tiring out. I'd personally like to see what someone like Soule would do with a film score, though... that'd be rape. Oh! I got it! Soule and Zimmer combined: Pirates of the Caribbean III!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone heard that rumor about the composer for the third movie?
