Update!

I have for ye all a cute little victory fanfare. This little guy plays after your typical battle...you know, the part where they show you the spoils of your victory and gained experience and all that - this is the music for it.

Enjoy! :whistling:

Victory Fanfare

This is some big stuff dude. Keep up the good work.

Thanks very much!

I appreciate the comments. To answer your question, the last two were both made with EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold ProXP and the first was made with Garritan Personal Orchestra.

:)

I hate that all this crap costs a [non specific word] load. I have gigastudio, but the computer that had my soundcard crashed, so no use from it yet. :sadtears: I'm intrested in that Garritan though, how does it run?

Anyways, after seeing the battle screenshots, I'm afraid the battle theme might not fit. I think it's in the drums, but I'm not quite sure.

I like the Victory theme a lot though. It has a kind of tropical feel, which seems very fitting for the game.

A near-same version of GPO comes with Finale 07, and that runs at $600. GPO alone I am not sure.

Hey,

Yeah, I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure I necessarily agree. See, it's a bit of a tough project because I have to blend the sort of typical Japanese RPG VGM style with a more modern, personal flair and so it can be challenging to get it blended right.

In this case, I just wanted to preserve the sense of motion that I hear in a lot of Japanese victory fanfares without leaving it to be too simplistic.

I guess that, if it does turn out to be too dramatic, it can just be used for a more monumental victory sequence *shrugs*

Thanks for the comment!

Hey everyone,

I've got a couple of new pieces for this project, the first is just a cute little looping town theme, and the second is a slightly more sad, peaceful town theme. Let me know what you all think

Town Theme (looping) - eSnips, share anything

Calm Town (looping) - eSnips, share anything)

I liked all of the three but my favourite is definitely the last one, great idea using the same theme but changing the tonality. The first Maybell reminded me of the Besaid (i think) theme in Final Fantasy X.

Mark

I see what you mean by that. It think its found a place between Besaid Island from FFX and Fisherman's Horizon from FFVIII.

Damn fine music Marius. Keep it up. The samples are great too - massivly expensive though! Still, GPO is good enough for now I think. I liked your victory fanfare as well and the 1st Town theme you just put up really made me feel of a bustling centre so thats good.

I wouldn't call the Calm Town "sad", but definitly peaceful, like a secluded village in the woods maybe?

Wasn't Besaid Island a piece of chillout electronica? :whistling:

Wasn't Besaid Island a piece of chillout electronica? :P

You're right! We're thinking of a different FFX track and I can't remember its name!

Hey!

Thanks very much for your comments, guys. :P

I agree with those of you who commented that the calm town theme is not really sad; that was a misnomer on my part when I gave the description. It was never intended to feel sad - it's for a peaceful farming village. Sorry for the confusion.

As for the similarity with the other piece, I'm curious to hear which one you mean, although I'm not as familiar with the soundtrack as I'd like to be so any similarities are likely unintentional.

I appreciate your comments!
