wait! I have a choral song named "The Night"......I'll fight you for the copyright on the title ;) ........jk

Anyway, I thought it was nice. You have some very nice harmonies and melodic lines, but I did think it could have used a little more variation. Both molodic and dynamic. Rythm had some interesting ideas (which is in no way a bad thing). I liked your use of duple vs triple and transitions between the two, they worked very well. I also think this piece could be a bit longer, maybe you could use the extra time to develop a B section and build to more of a climax. Thats all, thanks for posting!

This piece certainly made me happy. It reminds me of when I watch the fireflies come out each night in the garden. I found your piece to be quite delicate, and playful - two ingredients I recommend! Perhaps at times, it felt like the Sun was rising for morning... or maybe it was just the moon emerging from behind a cloud. Nevertheless, darkness soon fell again! I enjoyed these contrasts. I am of course just going by your (beautifully) vague title, "night".

A quaint listen,

Sorry about the similarity in name. I think I'm going to chang the name to fire flies of the night considering blenching snails comments. Thanks for responding.

I really enjoyed it. It had alot of variety to keep you interested. I also thought the melody was very pretty. Are you finished with the piece? Towards the end it almost felt like it was going to build up to something bigger. I think that would definatley be good. By the way what sound library did you use?

it's very simple, and as such, it's a delightful little piece.

but as someone else noted, there is an impression throughout of incomplete-ness. It is as though you stray a little from your tonic, ending a phrase on a II (with major third, thus, distant from your initial key) suggesting that there will be harmonic movement to a yet more distant key, but suddenly you're right back on the tonic.

wow thats really good. Good job! :D

Very delightful. The beginning def. paints for me the picture of children catching firelights. But I also find the timpani a little annoying and distracting. Probably because of my ignorant, what is the purpose of the timpani? A sense of trouble, not being able to catch the firelights?

But delightful nevertheless...

Hmm...I'm not sure how I feel about that piece. I agree with one of the posts above, it sounded like it was gonna get really big and then it ended. I think its well done but it doesn't have enough in it to keep me hooked, just for listening. Thats personal preference on the style rather than down to your composing though.
