Romance in B Major

Featured Replies

I really liked it, but I think performance wise the accompaniment was too loud in balance with the melody. I think you can bring out the melody more, and play more pianissimo in the left hand. Some parts are a bit generic, but generic is never a bad thing. Overall it was great, good job!

i like it , it makes me think of my girlfriend! good job , soo romantic man!

Hi Chopin,

I think you're already aware of the limitations of this piece because of your own comments in the thread. Like all of your other piano works it's very beautiful - but I think the main problem is not so much the static harmony (though I would certainly prefer it if the harmony did move around a little bit more) - but the stylistic and harmonic incongruity between the melismas and the harmony - basically to my ears some of it sounds like Chopin (or possibly Lisztian) and the rest more like film score - and I'm not sure those elements really work together.

Looking forward to the next piece.

I don't like it.

I find your style in general to be pretty bland to be totally honest.

I think you should try something different, because you obviously have talent.

I'm sorry, but to be honest this comment seems contradictory. If someone's style is in general pretty bland, then how do you make the assertion that he has talent if in general it seems more mediocre to you?

This is not my personal preference or opinion on his music (which had its moments), I just empathize with Chopin here that if this was being said about me, I'd be confused about what you're really saying, or if you're just trying to be kind.
