Vagrant (Guild theme)

Featured Replies

Vagrant.mp3 - FileFront.com

I wrote this for a guild in a MMORPG as a guild theme. The guild's name is , meaning 'wanderer'.

There are still some parts to be touched up here and there, but it is mainly complete.

2:10 long, composed and played back solely in Finale 2006.

Enjoy, and all feedback/critiques appreciated!

Hi Reives.

Some of the motiffs you used sound quite good.

I have to admit that the sample library you used is one of the baddest I've ever heard. There is 'too much voices' error somewhere in the beginning of the song (0:33) or they do not suit well.

Heya,

Thanks for the feedback. But sorry to ask, being a nublett myself, what is a sample library?

I do see your point with the 0:33 part, it did come to my attention while I was going through it. The guitar gliss part didn't really go as I intended for it to go, but it had a weird effect to it (chaotic, sort of).

Thanks for your time~

Actually sample library is the group of instruments that can be used to simulate the real orchestra's instruments sound. If you're beginner composer I would suggest you use Edirol Orchestra which is quite cheap and fast sample library but gives quite good effects. Type Edirol Orchestra in google and you will see what am I talking about. If you're more experienced and people appreciate your compositions you can invest your money to the real orchestra with choirs ethinc instruments etc.

......and people appreciate your compositions you can invest your money to the real orchestra with choirs ethinc instruments etc.

Lmao, do you honestly think that people appreciating your work means you can or can't have good sound libraries? I hope not, it has nothing to do with it. I would bet that most people couldn't appreciate something unless it had a good sound library.

Score?

By the way I liked it alot. Investing in better sound libraries is almost a neccesity. That or only arranging for the instruments that sound good. I think if you shifted some of the instruments to other ones it would be better. Some of them were kind of cheesy. The one around 1.40 especially.

I believe you portrayed the wandering feeling very well.

Make the chruch bells louder they are so cool.

@TheMeaningofLIfe

Of course. If you are good, people like your music, you can afford better sound libraries or even better - the real orchestra.

Good sound libraries are quite expensive IMO but many times cheaper than real orchestra.

Right on.

Sorry if I came off a bit heavy above, I didn't intend to.
