Concerto for Cello in E Minor, Bassoon Concerto in E-Flat

Ok. This is the first Mvt of my Cello concerto.

Um... What do you think? BTW there is a DC Al Fine at the end and ends on that fermata chord.

First of all, it is very short, even with the DC al fine. I couldn't really tell what the theme was or what form it followed. Maybe if you try to develop the different themes more and expand upon your ideas. It really didn't sound like a concerto, especially not a first movement to one. Also, I didn't really like the orchestration, but I'm no expert on orchestration. I'm not saying it was bad, it had some good ideas, it needs work though. Don't give up composing. Good luck!

Ok. Most of my stuff isn't more than 5 minutes...

Writing short pieces is not a bad thing, just concerti tend to be longer works and first movements are usually the longest, at least from what I have observed but I may be wrong. This is a good start, you have the skeleton you just need to fill in the muscles and the rest of the body.

Ok. I'll make the middle one and finale longer. I tend to make my finales the longest.
