Midi file problem in fl studio

Ok, so I recorded something on my keyboard and saved the recorded midi file to a floppy disk. I do have a sustenuto pedal attached to the keyboard, and the midi file sounds good and pedaly.. Now I import the midi file into fl, assign a vst instrument to it, but all the pedal sounds seems like they have been deactivated.. Most of the notes sounds like stacatto. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

Or is conecting the keyboard to my computer the only way to solve it? :rolleyes:

well, it depends on the plug-in. Sustain is a midi channel, MIDI. if you use a soundfont, or general midi you should be good. However, something like FL keys,

or some other piano soundfont might not have the sustain pedal. Also, in a real piano the sustain will fade and etc. compared to in midi, where 127= on and anything less=off, so its not as realistic. What piano vst/whatever are you using?

i'm no expert, but i think you have to use a vst/synth with sustain support. let me do a bit more googling....

yohng.com' :: 4Front Piano Module -- 4 front piano (or mdaPiano) both have support for sustain pedal. Now, i'm not sure what fl does with it, i'd check it out myself but i'm a school at the moment. There should be some automation, look in that section, and look for midi controllers that are changed. Maybe something like 64: Sustain or something. Oh, and make sure you're on pattern mode.
