Ok... so here is a piece I wrote today to express... how I am feeling.

I have had a really bad week and I have been bogged down by school... final exams are coming up... and well. I have not been doing too well in school. However, I will not rant about all of my problems here, just know this was created from the inspiration of having a bad week.

Ok, so the song has no form either... I mean i guess it has a form, but I didn't pay attention to it. This is just pure emotional output from my hands to my computer.

I hope you enjoy it.

(Oh and this is more frustration... and hurrying... than anger.)

Ahhh, a gloomy heart is truly where the artist thrives. I truly enjoyed this piece. And I listened only to the .mid file. I hope you make a recording of it. I would love to hear it performed, it seems very prone to... expressiveness. I hope I'll find the time to check the score, as well.

Why thank you.

I would have to have somebody else record it. I don't play piano very well at all... but, it wouldn't be that hard find somebody to make a recording of it. I know a lot of people who play the piano very well AND also have a lot of bad weeks... they are artist... what fine artist doesn't have bad weeks???

what fine artist doesn't have bad weeks???

I would be hard pressed to imagine one.

what artist doesn't have bad weeks???

I tend to have bad years, had three of them consecutively.

Excuse me? What did you mean by that? haha.

Oh. Ok thank you. I thought you could have meant it as interesting in a bad way.

But I was wrong. Any criticism from anybody?

it does sound like someone's expressing their frustration... and anger at the end. and the volcano (individual) explodes at the end... so, the music does reflect your mood at the time of composition. :) although it has a lot of dissonance, it does accomplish what you set it out to do: to express yourself. and in the end, that's what matters.

The dissonance is what I love. I crave dissonance in my music. It's definitely one of my favorite parts of my musical style.

I really like this. As others have said, it has really captured your frustration, but at the same time I feel like I'm picking up on a certain wit. I think my favorite part is either those single notes banging out the rhythm in the right hand or those really dense chords that have a few changing notes that create a really interesting melody.

And I for one am a fan of unstructured, freeform music, I think it is the most expressive. I'm not the best at piano either but I may give this a try
