My new little piece

It

It doesn't work as a piece BUT can make an excellent intro to a concerto. The final cadence can be replaced by a piano attack and...well you get the idea. Sounds like it has potential.

I agree, I like the sound and can easily see any solo instrument continuing the piece

Sorry, can't open the file... scorch is having some problems. How about a midi?

Scorch didn't open it for me either.

I managed to open it but not through scorch. I just did what it asked in the first post and saved it and renamed it as an mp3 instead of sib. Anyway I also enjoyed it a lot but I agree with the other posts, that it could be continued. Its good on its own but as an intro it would be excellent.

The reason you can't save it as an MP3 here is that THAT is not a valid file format for the forum.

MP3 files are large, and it would overburdon the forum if everyone was saving MP3 files to its servers.

So either post a MIDI, or a .Sib or .Mus, or one of the other accepted formats.

To be fair, you should remove this file and replace it by one of the accepted formats.

Qc, if everyone had the same amount of space, but mp3s were allowed, it wouldn't make any difference at all would it? People would just have to be more careful about how much space they used.

ah, but if wishes were horses...

however, that's neither here nor there.

If the file could be replaced with a MIDI file it would be better.

It would make a difference, Mark - it's not the issue of space alone, it's a bandwidth issue. 20 people downloading a 20kb file is rather different to 20 people downloading a 1Mb file, even though 1Mb falls under the 3Mb upload limit.

Basically, due to their size, mp3s are too burdensome to the YC server.

Ah, I wasn't aware it might cause a bandwidth problem, thanks for clearing that up.
