Rock On The Piano op.16

Featured Replies

This is my latest song please reply and tell me on what you think and give me advice for my next songs, thnx

I can see this as a rock song. However in my opinion, it is not capable of standing on its own. It needs something with it. Whether it be guitar or maybe an electric violin, another instrument would help.

This sounds like the piano is trying to be a whole band. Too much pounding, too little music. Not to mention the fact that some brief moments require such speed as could not even be achieved by someone experiencing an epileptic seizure.

This needs some work....develop it more and give it some interest so it can stand on its own and be listenable. :)

This felt like I have downloaded some early metallica midi and listened to it with the piano sound. As mentioned before, this doesn't stand on it's own. It doesn't stand for 3 minutes. And...what kind of ending was that?

Really cool use of chords! One thing that I noticed is that the chords are really powerful at 1:42, but there is definitely something missing. I think if you added a beautiful singing melody to that, it would sound sooo cool!! The impending, pounding piano with a completely contrasting theme of hope... or something lol

Can you post the sheet music or chord changes? I'm an electric bassist and I have some experience with rock music, I'll see how I'd change it and even record a bass track for you if you like, but I don't have the time to work the changes out myself right now.

Its defiantly not playable as is, you should probably arrange it it a simplified format or a 3-4 player rock band format.

Did you write this for any particular purpose?

I kind of like this. I do think it needs another instrument. You could really break the whole thing down into several instruments, but you probably want a prominent piano.

For actualy playing... its going to be hard to find someone that can keep a good solid tempo with those fast beats. It can be done though. I used to be able to play like that just fine, but I stopped playing like that to play in a different style, and now I can't keep a good tempo playing fast beats like that. Also my hands tend to desync now when playing that fast.

Oh, I totally didn't even hear that bit at about 15 seconds in the first time around. Well I might could pull that off on my synth with super fake fast action keys, but I definatly couldn't do it on a real piano.

I really do want to know what your purpose in writing this one was, it sounds like something that would be fun to do with a rock band, with a few modifications.
