Good stuff happening, very nice tune, keep up the good work.

Your piece was very pleasant to listen to. There were some very nice moments. My personal issue is that there didn't seem to be much development of ideas in the trumpet solo. There were short moments where the impression of some kind of development of motifs were occuring in the orchestra but not with the solo. But, still a very pleasant piece.

Hi composer, the program I used is "Cakewalk".

Thanks for listening.

Fredrik

I really don't like it very much I'm afraid. The melody sounds like sort of a pastiche of Mozart (you add raised fourths and chromaticisms to a slightly annoying extent), and large sections sound like they're been arranged from a much smaller ensemble onto an orchestral template.

I like it, do you have a .pdf of the score or Midi file of the concerto?

I might recomend it to a trumpet player I know.

Hi Zetetic!

I think it sounds more like a pastiche of Haydn and I don't use any orchestral templates like maybe you do!

Hi Virtualshock!

Thanks for your interest and for listening, I will send you the trumpet part in midi form!

I would of course also be delighted if your friend, the trumpet player would do a recording with a real orchestra instead of my gpo people.

Haydn? How dare you! :)

To be honest, it sounds like you, not anyone else. Maybe I'll prefer it after a few playthroughs. I dunno, it just didn't do it for me first time around. Others seem to like it, so it's clearly getting there.

That was an unexpected and pleasant comment!

It was "Ein kleine Nachtmusik" by Amadeus that triggered me to start composing this pastiche 1979, yes you were right and have my respect.

This was also the year when I was playing cello in an orchestra and had the opportunity to hear my own work. The score you see was used by the conductor at that time.

with respect

If I may, Fredrik...

I am a trumpet player myself. The piece is beautifully crafted and the orchestral accompaniment is excellent.

I would suggest not to be 'afraid' of the music. What I mean is, it is a fairly simple piece for orchestral trumpet playing. Go ahead and experiment with some embellishing- mordents, turns, trills, etc. Listen to orchestral trumpet solos, not just the 'popular' stuff. I take it you play the cello, and it sounds a bit like it was meant to be played by a string soloist.

It is incredible how it all 'fits' together. Nice Job!

Very nice, noble and busy concerto.

I would have liked one melodic line early in the piece to be a bit more fluent, and at one place the motif is repeated a lot, a bit too much maybe. There is one FAST run in the middle that sounds a bit out of place.

Very nice piece, I would love to see the trumpet part for this(although I'm guessing it's for Eb trumpet, it goes quite high?)

Lovely and keep up the good work.
