Inal?

you like the BIG and lengthy stuff, don't you? :P

This is HUGE! In the best sense of the word! I don't see why a record company wouldn't take it immediately as is and publish it really! Of course it is difficult music and they wouldn't expect to make much of a profit from you, neither should you :P! But that makes no difference really!

One comment I would have maybe, perhaps, anyways, would be that the development is really slow, and that (again) this belongs a bit to an older era (60s-70s, musique concr

There's no reason why you shouldn't send to some more experimental record labels. You could try Hearts of Space ( Hearts of Space ) It's a radio station and record label dedicated to ambient music/space music.

Very cool stuff, I like it. Thanks for sharing

Congratulations for this great work, Inal. I can't believe you composed so quickly.

Well, I listened to the whole music about a week ago, but didn't have enough time nor energy to post (it was really late, and add one hour to that after listening to the music). I can remember well though what I thought about your music:

Maybe what Nikolas says about development is true, but to me it doesn't matter at all. I loved the ambience created and the expectation that was well filled later, with an original and fine surprise. It just caught my attention the low volume (intensity) used for a very long time and, as I can remember, during the whole piece. Just curiosity, but didn't you think about using a higher level? Or a compression or just a normalization for the whole piece? However know that I'm impressed about the high quality of the sounds created and their development. Nothing really to criticize here. Even when I know many electroacoustic composers' taste about the intensity of some (or all) of their works in a low level, I personally prefer to make my pieces to sound loud, because who will listen to it can control it, and I hate the sound systems' hiss produced in a high volume. But that's personal taste!

Man... quoting Mr. Sideris: "This is HUGE! In the best sense of the word!"

And I'll take one more hour of my busy life to listen to it again.

Thank you very much for listening !

I know what you mean by that, but currently this versions is really an early demo. I think I mentioned before that it will be processed one more time and mastering will be made for the optimum sound quality. I also think of re-recording some of the bits that I didn't like. I am trying to make it as professional as possible with the best of my knowledge.

recently, after watching a BBC documentary about the fate of our planet I came up with a fantastic Idea for a story about this piece and the 2 that will follow. This is no longer called Io but I am looking for a new name. This music is now our own planet, thousands of years later when our ultimate fate will arrive. Sun will burn all life and it will be again a burned up planet before sun ultimately destroys it. Once again, desolate and abundant of life. The next chapter will be about men colonization on planet mars. Showing the journey and the steps we will need to make it a livable planet. But it will be the case that one day mars will be under threat by the sun (some millions of years later I guess) which the history will repeat itself and mankind should look for other planets for the continuation of our race. the third and last chapter is the last hope of mankind. A probe is being sent to outer space in search for possible life in Europa and possible new habitat for men. In the final chapter, humanity faces its one of the hardest moments. Will it be possible to colonize on Europa? If not, than this will be the end of mankind and there is nothing that can be done about it. And if it is possible to live there, one day the same problem with earth and mars will be repeated because of the sun expanding and growing larger. So.. actually there is nothing that we can do but to move to a more distant planet as the sun grows bigger and bigger, and ultimately exploding. But.. this will be in some millions of years.. no worries now!

The documentary actually gave me this idea and I think that it can be fitted to this project very well. What do you think ?

just got done listening to it. pretty heavy stuff. loved the last 5-6 minutes. I'm going to listen again later before I say much else.

What program did you say you used for this?

I pretty much used most of the sounds from Reason, altered them a bit and mixed it using Cubase.

+ I forgot to mention that I used GuitarRig II for the guitars

:P

I bought a theremin from ebay today! And guest what, I am going to use it on europa. I know it's a very old device but just for the sake of it, just for the sake of sci-fi.

It must be a pretty cool stuff, how come I could not think of it before. And while imagining all the effect I am going to apply to it I am extremely eager to get my hands on it.
