Stage 009 - "Catcher"

Featured Replies

Another concept I'm working on that isn't quite finished is "Catcher" a song that goes to a stage design concept in "The OzSmith" that I'm not sure will ever really make it off the ground (well, not this way anyway) - but for what it's worth, I'm still going to use this song design.

This is essentially the "Dark Forest" stage of the Oz game.

This is a somewhat sloppy draft. Any crits, comments, suggestions are welcome.

People usually post within a day or so. If it's bad just tell me.

I think this is a nice piece. I like the use of the accordian in this and the ethnic drums gives it a fresh sound. It is a bit repetitive here and there, but I don't think its annoying or anything, it fits.. When you introduced the snare at 1:10, you made me want more.. IMO you should introduce a solid rythm line either there or at 2:00 were you reintroduced it.

Nice piece overall.

chim chimery chim chimery chim chim cheri.

Sorry that just jumps into my head.

Actually it starts with a carnival setting before going to Whatever song chimcheri is in. If you are trying for dark, it shouldn't resemble a child's movie piece.JMO

Well...not dark as in "Evil" - just dark as in...dark. It's a dark forest. There's a forbidden meadow stage but that's a bit different. It's kind of carnivally because of some of the "enemies" there. Thanks for the comments.

Bob Taylon - actually there used to be a rhythm being used throughout the song in the rough-draft midi version. I got rid of them on account that I wasn't quite sure what instruments to use for that rhythm later on. The snare is a good idea *scribbles onto notebook paper*

Cut most of the other junk out of the title *cough*

The boss theme to the same stage - rough piano render - the notes are really supposed to represent quick strings so it might sound a bit funny. Anyway, here it is:

I like it. Ethnical. Only thing I disliked about it is the beginning. Can I know what software/ vsts you used to make this piece?
