Toccata e ricercare in d minor for keyboard. I usually write programme music, but this time is just for the sake of the instrument. I chose the affective key of d minor ( Melancholy womanliness, the spleen and humours brood. ) for this piece. 1. Toccata: The meaning of this word is "to touch". Its a virtuoso piece with fastmoving immitative parts. 2. Ricercare: A Renaissance and early baroque intrumental form in counterpoint. The word means "to search out". The ricercare is seen as the early fugue, with more free counterpoint. Please tell me what you think SimenN

Hi, Here a Waltz I wrote last week. Because of the mood I named just Spring Waltz. It's written for a late classical period orchestra: 1Piccolo, 2Flutes, 2Oboes, 2Bb Clarinets, 2Bassoons, 4Horns & Strings. I added also Glockenspiel and Vibraphone, because I like its percussive effect when doubling the winds. I think the style is also of the period. I appreciate your feedback.

If you are in an early stage of your development as an orchestral composer, it is not bad at all. But you should avoid so much repetition of similar chords. At least you can divide basses and other strings into various patterns, even though it can still be the same G major chord. The formal approach is completely adequate though.

hello guliem, i like your melody and motifs. (I listened to your previous works) I cannot review, I am not competent in this regard, but I can say that your orchestration is successful and your melody are interesting.

Finally I have a chance to compose something for a bigger sized orchestra and piano solo. This is my first time composing music for such big varieties of instruments.
