Hi I upgraded Printmusic 2008 to 2014 to take advantage of VST instuments. I got JABB3 and it works fine now. I was thinking of getting PO4 but being new to VST am not sure if I should upgrade from Printmusic to Finale 2014 full version (which has some orchestral VST I think) as I am not sure if I can tweak the sounds properly in Printmusic. Any help is appreciated as I am a Newb to VST...

Great, upgraded to Printmusic 2014 now 'audio engine does not load' ...no playback at all now.

Hi, I have Finale 2008 and the sounds are terrible. My old laptop blew up and I moved it onto my new one so may have lost some instruments although I am not sure. I was wanting to do a $40 update to Printmusic 2014 but am not sure if it is possible to get some free VST instruments. Can this be done? I don't want to spend $400 on an update to Finale in order just to get better quality sounds!

Solo Classical guitar is very difficult as are the focus of attention, do not be too hard on yourself. Definitely get in a duet or larger grouping of some sort and you can 'hide' a little ...there is safety in numbers. I play the classical guitar and jazz guitar . I found it hard to front a Jazz guitar trio with bass and drums as I felt the focus was on me .I was fine in a quartet adding a sax player , also duet setting is cool too. I also get nerves , I think most people do.

The Jazz improv one was touted as a beginner course but was really for intermediate/advanced players and was very difficult in places. I know nothing about the other courses but the way the Jazz one worked was interesting in that you get to mark and hear the work of the other students. There is also a forum so there may be a possibility to make future contacts and get your works heard by the other students. Should you teach composition there is also the possibility of learning from the format of the course which is modular. I would say its worth joining up for at least a browse :)

Hi, I did the jazz improv course at Coursera and it was very good (I got 93% ;) ) I noticed two other free courses that may be of interest : https://www.coursera.org/course/beethovensonatas and in 2014 https://www.coursera.org/course/classicalcomp These are free and there is no pressure once you have signed up to complete them, so you can browse the material etc..

Cool, do these chords set up "whole tone" type scales/themes? Did he also ever just hold that chord for a long time and play on it rather than use it as part of a flat II7 to I ?
