Wing Over
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to Cloudwind IX Productions's topic in Incidental Music and Soundtracks
I STRONGLY disagree with that statement, but you are entitled to your opinion. The reason there is no definite "end" is because the memories of that beloved pet live on forever, and that is represented by how the loop "never ends". =) Either way, there has been a new version uplaoded. -
Island Dance
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to Cloudwind IX Productions's topic in Game and Film Music
Wow, this song is old... o_o I uploaded a new version, I suppose it's my only version now? Wow It's been such a long time since I was on here! -

Orchestral Dance
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to Celloman's topic in Orchestral and Large Ensemble
This is a very fun piece, it reminds me of Tetris a lot. I can picture many of the different musicians dancing in their seats while playing. Great stuff! -
Untitled Egyptian Theme
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to xiii1408's topic in Orchestral and Large Ensemble
This seems to me more like the egyptian theme from some epic movie. I don't think an oboe can go that high.. O_O But either way this is pretty darn good! I can picture the sands rushing across the desert. I just don't like how it ends... so abruptly.. @_@ -
The unnamed island "march" and the Island Dance. This is a fun little piece starting out with a march-like beat called.. well, the Island 'march'. I call it a sort of battle between the brass and woodwinds. It's a giant build up until the main melody finally breaks out, which all groups of instruments play. Kind of a satirical piece. It then dissolves into my favorite piece, Island Dance. The energy of the dance might make you want to dance! I went to my band leader to see what he thought of it and if it might be concert band material, he told me all I had to do was write parts for instruments (or make it sound like a concert band was playing) so I did. I actually used the program Fruity Loops for this entire thing. You may notice how flute and clarinet take more charge here. That's on purpose. Please enjoy! This is the fourth piece I majorly worked on. Link: Island Fanfare Suite For Concert Band Edit: These are two separate songs, but put together so our band leader could have a nice lengthy piece to work with. I'll try to make the transition less... 'painful'. =)

An airy tune that is right now in its most raw state. If I like it enough I might make this into a long song iN FL, but for right now it's a repeating (looping) song that might do well for a character theme. I made this in honor of my bird (who was amazing). It's like a breeze in a song. This feels like.. an island, yet like you're high up in a mountain, on an Island. Think Dragonroost Island from Zelda Windwaker. I have a MIDI and a MUS. I think the MUS sounds better. Again, this was done in less than an hour, because the song popped into my head, and I did not wish to lose it. D: I hope you like! Wing Over.MUS Wing Over.MID

I've worked on this since... December of last year... Released one earlier version (that sounded just.. not cool.) and finally, after seemingly years of practicing and creating (Did it all on Fruityloops), this was the end result. The best way I can describe this is it has a fusion type sound.. somewhat of a D&B sound.. the style switches to semi-orchestral then goes back to D&B, only to transform into more latin dance stuff. and of course, jazzy (which is why I think it fits best in the jazz category) I truly hope you like it, it's a leading flute and clarinet, with piano, bass (think double bass), a harp like instrument.. violin, cello, and much more! Please enjoy! Carry Me Away

"A Dream": Its finally finished!!! Take a Look.
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to pianoman216's topic in Choral, Vocal
I'm sorry yo.... Words fail me. (That is a good thing.) And no, I have no critique to offer. -
My first piece I ever composed....... got a MAJOR overhaul! One year, and Forty-Eight instruments later... this is what happened. There are sound effects in here to accentuate different... "periods" throughout the song. If some are louder than the song itself, it was meant as an element of surprise. I do hope you enjoy this. Carry Me Away (To A Place)
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to Cloudwind IX Productions's topic in Jazz, Band, Pop, Rock
I'm afraid I CAN'T post any lyrics here yet. My and my friend/co-writer have to finish the words first. Then he and I will sing it, THEN I'll post it here. Also, the link has been updated. The original version sounds more flowy, not so muffled... -
How did you get into composition?
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to jujimufu's topic in Composers' Headquarters
Hey, that reminds me of me! Only I actually started a year ago... -

Pedro Martins - Awesome, thanks! pianoman216 - Thanks! Songjun - Thanks, but how was the original? And he didn't REmix it. He just added some FX. -
That's just rock'n roll
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to phdmartre's topic in Jazz, Band, Pop, Rock
It's nice. I love this style of rock, and I'm loving this song! You certainly know how to shred, don't you? X) I can picture this on a music video. You're pretty good dude! :D -
How did you get into composition?
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to jujimufu's topic in Composers' Headquarters
Actually... it all started when I was about 8 years old. I'd come up with crazy CRAZY tunes in my head.. for "a video-game I'm gonna make when I'm all grown up!"... Hahaha. But slowly, as time pressed on, these tunes became more real. And, holy cow! It's a year today since I STARTED composing. I have horrible trouble reading music, though. I composed all I have by ear. It's like.. a whole other world, full of strange lands, and awesome music... It would be nice to share it with the world, you know? I'm actually more a visual artist than a musician, but it's nice, composing, and stuff. Oh yes, I hadn't touched a flute until last year... -
Ahhh, I love this song. I's about an island, getting away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, escaping. (Well, there's a worded version coming soon.) :D Anyway.. There are two versions. The original, which sounds a bit like elevator music.. (I love elevator music! It can be so relaxing..) Anyway, it's more raw, and sounds more... serene. Here it is! I'm super proud of this. Carry Me Away (To A Place) And then there's the Mixed version. A good friend, Yoshi J (A DJ) made this more... pop, more Hip Hop, I suppose, He added the sweet FX. It's more playful than the original version, but in my opinion, both are great! I hope you think so too. Carry Me Away: Yoshi J Mix There you are. Please, enjoy. :D All music © Dragonfly Night. (That's my group.) All rights reserved.

Help with a name for my band...please...:D
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to KTH's topic in Composers' Headquarters
How about "Burning Tears"? That kinda sounds emo, though.. What's your style like? I'm OK at names, maybe I can help some. PM with more info if you like. -
Yeeesh. I heard this on a RADIO SHOW when I was younger, and again a few months ago. The hosts of the show were bored out of their MINDS, so this started playing, and they tried to make up some silly ridiculous song about their website/radio show. Unfortunately they failed badly because the hosts couldn't sing, and the quaint little melody was always too fast for them so they stumbled.... Every... time... they tried this. But it's fun to make up stuff to sing along to this.. XP If you KNOW this song, consider it a Cloud Sound Cover. Everything is from that radio show (Apologetics.com Radio Show) , including the strings, only improvised. If you can LAST throughout all those loops... It's actually not so bad. But be advised, after hearing this two or three times the melody will get stuck into your head. X) Can you LAST through the Ridiculous Nameless Song? ------ Flute, Bassoon, Nylon Guitar, Acoustic Bass Guitar, Violins, Cellos. And if you got through the whole song I APPLAUD YOU! XDDD!!

The final version of my first sonata
Cloudwind IX Productions replied to AndrevHaren's topic in Piano Music, Solo Keyboard
.. Unfortunately, I can't read music.. But even the notes look beautiful! If we could just have an MP3.. -
Oooh, I like this! I picture a guy with a tophat, a white one, wearing a white coat, and a candy apple red bowtie. Playing in front of a parlor. And this to me is a keeper. I like how it gets all fast, too. I like the sudden key changes as well. I heard a few slip ups, but really, even the very best of the composers make a few slip ups sometimes. Keep it up, I hope to hear more from you!
-
(I hope I didn't put this in the wrong forum. If I did, I appologize. @_@) Well, the part you heard last time is now the intro. And I've added a full 'main theme'. I showed this to a composer friend who had been formally trained, he thought I was playing an instrument in it and that I was at a concert hall or something... ./////////.;; I do hope you like it as much as I do. You can critique, but do be advised I'm not going to change it because of all the emotion and personal feeling that went into this. Besides your normal comment, tell me how this makes you feel, and/or what you feel.. Here ya go. :P
