I'm sorry but I must correct you here. When a composer is 70+ years dead (this is different in each country) does not mean all their work instantly becomes public domain. In terms of sheet music, publishers still own the rights over their publication of the composer's work. So simply scanning in the sheet music is still violating copyright as the edition must also be in the public domain. Take Mozart's works for example. Most are now published by "Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers" and all these editions are not public domain. The 70+ rule applies to public performance of the composer's work. Very true. He created a mass amount of large scale works from operas to symphonies (the first of which he wrote at 12). He's the sort of character that every composer envies. :P

Nice piece. I like the way you have contrasted the left hand parts in the piano, but sometimes I find it a bit too contrasting as it changes a bit quick. Overall a fairly solid piece, good work.

I agree! The English anthem is fairly good, but I like the russian more

I love Mozart, His melodic genius is unsurpassed. One of the main points about Mozart's music that sticks out is its very enjoyable to play. Playing his clarinet concerto is a joy (and difficult).

I'm not 100% but you would need to have two midi inputs into your computer in order to do that. Having 2 MIDI devices hooked up to 1 MIDI INPUT port would as you said cause chaos.

How old are you? The Royal College of Music is very high standard. Some of the best composers go there i've heard

Perfect pitch can be learned, its a skill just like anything else thats needs to be developed and practiced. My harmony and theory tutor has amazing perfect pitch, He wants once said that its like : "Seeing with your ears and hearing with your eyes"

This is on my to buy list, when funds allow of course!

Harmony is the basis of all music that is around today. My personal opinion is that harmony is essential to being a composer.

Dpes Michael Jackson actually compose his own music or does he pay someone to and he sing's to it. Thats generally the system used by post "pop" stars

Can Finale perform ornaments such as turns and mordents? I have sibelius and it can do trills, but not turns ect

I use siblius all the time, its great for knocking up a quick sketch of a composistion, my only negative about it is the flexitime recoding, which 99% of the time messes up on me
