May 8, 200619 yr That would have to be a tie between two Concertos. Johann Sebastian Bach's Violin Concerto in A minor BWV 1041, and his Violin Concerto in E major BWV 1042. Although, not as orchestrated as largerly as the ones after Bach's time, these are a symbol of perfection. My most loved. :) Jeremy

June 14, 200619 yr People.... You're forgetting one of the most amazing of all! Corigliano's Chaconne for Violin and Orchestra. That piece changed my life.... it's off the Red Violin soundtrack and I urge any violinists here to have a listen.

June 16, 200619 yr Witold Lutoslawski's Partita for Violin and Orchestra is great. And I thought he said that he didn't like atonal music? :) Stravinsky's is great as well. I've seen on wikipedia that Bruch wrote another two more violin concertos, though I've never heard or seen the score of them. Any help here? (trying to promote unheard works is my job - gonna buy a $1500 opera when I'm in college and have the money )
