Ambivalent Traveler

Featured Replies

Ambivalent Traveler is another relatively expressionate piano piece, with some harp, some strings, electronic backgrounds, etc. The idea is that there is a wanderer who doesn't know what to do or what choices to make and lets life push him or her where it may. Take notice of the "inconclusive" ending.

No major techniques used... a bit of syncopation to do some basic rythems, some trills... hardly techniques.

It took several days to finish it and another to "polish" it, although the polished version isn't uploaded since it's too large as a .wav.

Well done. This is not the kind of music I would run out and buy, but I can see you have put the time and effort into this and wish I could say that I would buy it. Keep in mind I haven't bought any music in a year!! Now I will check out your other posts.

Nice piece. Relaxing to listen to. I like how the various instruments you use seem to fade in and fade out - the mix seems to be pretty good. I might be wrong, but I have the feeling that you used only 2 chords throughout the entire song. If I was you, I would probably use a few more to make the song a bit more interesting, or at least have some sort of bridge section halfway through. I have heard much more boring 2 chord songs though.

I've heard somewhat similar musci in computer game Arcanum. :) I like it, but it's too monotonous. :)

I do use more than two chords, it's probably that the ones you hear are the easiest to hear. The chord variations happen mostly in the "verses". Though I certainly could use a bit more practice writing with theory in mind.

Hey, I haven't seen you around here in a while...

As for the piece, it was pretty good.

The piano melody was pretty nifty, not too monotonous.

....inconclusive ending indeed....

What did you use to write this?

EDIT: FL and GPO, nvm....
