Variations on Scarborough Fair

Featured Replies

Please visit and check out the mp3 posts on the Home and Music pages. The first two posts on the Music page and the trumpet piece on the Home page are part of a long (40-minute) orchestral work. If you have a word or two of advice/criticism to offer here that would be great. Thanks to anyone who has a moment for this! Daniel

You forgot to post a link or upload something!

Three of the 14 are found at beercanfort.com.

He gave the link in his paragraph.

I think there's already a "variations on scarborough fair" for band...I played it in spring of my freshman year in 2005.

Perhaps if you listened to the post you would know if I had inadvertently copied that work. D

I thought all three were quite good. They reminded me in places of some of Handel's Watermusic. I don't know the other "SF for band" so I can't comment but if you don't know it either I doubt you will have much overlap. The synthetic voices in the longer one on the "music" page are a slightly annoying (to me anyway) but real singers would sound fine. The first one denoted "second" on the music page was my favourite and could have been made longer.

BTW, I also really enjoyed the guitar piece (first on the welcome page). Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much for the generous review. Yes, the synthetic voices are annoying, especially since they can't make words (yet). Thanks for mentioning the guitar piece too.

I was being a little facetious about the SF for band--as was I think TSM. If it exists I'm confident the two share very little if anything. Regards, Daniel
