Sonata no. 2 in Des Major - movement two

Here is the second movement of my second sonata. It starts to change somehow in style, especially compared with my first sonata. Seems to happen automatically. I hope to hear comments on it, that really always helps me to get a fresh look on my music.

In my over-tired state, all I can say was that this is a really soothing and beautiful piece and that I'll say more on it later when I can focus...

I almost missed this, a quick glance at the title looked like the other thread.

It's a very tender movement with a kind of tentative character.

I also liked the contrapuntal interplay in the middle section.

There is a little part there that felt like a faint whisper of the first movement before going its own way. Or maybe I was just being a bit too attentive.

First thought.... it was very Chopin-esque. Intended?

I really liked the rise and fall pattern you incorporated in this movement, I felt it everywhere, the very beginning, through the development, and to the end. The main thematic idea you have reminds me of a leaf or piece of paper blowing in the wind... it is whisked away in the breeze and sails upwards. Once it has nearly reached it's peak, it teeters from side and side and loops up and down before swooping back up for a brief moment and gently wavering back down to the ground. Such a gentile and often overlooked event that happens at every moment somewhere, and it seems like this sonata movement is the depiction of that.

It just reminds me of a calm breeze in a tranquil leaf-covered Autumn park.

Very nice MP3, by the way, it made it so enjoyable to listen to. A very delicate performance.

Thanks for the compliments! it's good to hear if something works from others. Sometimes it's difficult to be objective myself. I just finished the third movement which I will upload in a couple of days.
