I agree completely here.

The beautiful thing with notation software is that not everybody who uses it WANTS their pieces to be performed. At the end of the day if you can get sound out of a computer you couldnt get out of a performer as it would be impossible to play, it is still music.

Well, not in my eyes, but I understand your sentiment and support your ability to say it.

I work with both programs (finale 2009 and sibelius 5) cause as arranger many times Im asked to give the computher file.

In my experience you can do all things with both programs, Its just a matter of you spend time with the program to learn it.

I personally like the jazz font of sibelius but I know that can be used in finale too. As a performer I like more the sibelius printed music....

Oh geese ... Can't just take a man at his word? :)

One of things that I can think of right now is the issue of using meters in which the denominator is not a power of 2. Used to be impossible in Finale, probably still is (or at least very difficult now). For example, a 17/24 meter which is a measure the length of 17 triplet 16th-notes used to be impossible. Even if it can now display it properly, I doubt if it can play it.
