Anyone have Safari on Mac?

Featured Replies

Yesterday, I was tinkering with the shoutbox in an attempt to make it work with Safari, at which point I realised that it actually worked right off the bat and there was no need to change anything. Could have been some other semi-unrelated changes I made recently.

That being said, I am on Windows and obviously can only run the Windows version of Safari. I'm wondering if anyone here is running Safari on a Mac - if so, please would you let me know? I'd like to ensure the shoutbox is safe for Safari on Macs as well as PCs, even though it would probably safe to assume both versions of the program behave similarly.

Nope, it doesn't work on Safari latest version (v3.0.4) on Leopard (10.5.2).

Nope. Neither does Shiira for that matter (in case you are willing to support it sometime in the future too ;)).

It didn't work for me either.

Whoops, it would seem I wasn't clear enough.

I'm aware that when I posted my original message, the shoutbox was still disabled when Safari was detected as being the user's browser. However, I was confident that its underlying technology was compatible with Safari, and were it to be enabled, it would work.

Try it now - you should be able to see the shoutbox if you navigate to the forum index using Safari. Due to a quirk, it won't detect Safari when running on a PC, but I'm planning to drop the browser detection thing altogether because it seems unlikely that any modern browser is going to be problematic anymore, so that's not really an issue.

All I need is confirmation from just one of you that the shoutbox is working OK in Safari on Mac. Thanks for being responsive, Mac users! :)

Great, thanks for helping out. I've now lifted all the browser-related restrictions which were in place.

Look forward to seeing you Safari-ers in the shoutbox, then! ;)

Oh, just noticed this thread. Sorry for not being able to assist, although it is now fixed :)

Thank you very much!

Although, now I have become very acquaint with Camino - I do not think I will return back to Safari
