This was definitely a fun piece. You handle the Classical style very well. Every note of this piece sounded like it was in precisely the right place. Your minor key development towards the end was really great. I smiled the whole way through.

A piece like tihs, which is constantly active, is hard to keep moving at that breakneck pace for so long, but you managed it admirably. I feel in part that this was due to your modulation to th eminor key around 3:00. That gave fresh life to your themes and allowed you to devleop them further before bringing us back for the rousing end.

All together, I tihnk this piece was well-crafted, well-balanced, and well-executed. I wouldn't change a note. Good job!

Hello Puck!

Great, great piece, really! I enjoyed it very much. It reminds me Mozart's opera overtures, and after your final chord, I'm waiting for the curtain to raise and act I to begin. What could be the subject of this opera? Had you some idea of it when writing this piece?

I'm sorry to say that: we want more! :D

Casals51 :ninja:

Great Job!!! :) Wonderful piece. Are you planning on writing an opera for this? Anyway, some parts of it reminded me of The Queen of the Night aria in The Magic Flute, but not too much seeing as this is much faster and in a different key.......

GREAT JOB!! :ninja: I look forward to hearing the opera! :D

I'm starting to believe that the majority of musicians on this forum composer in the classical style (there's nothing wrong with that, I do enjoy classical music). It just seems that everything I listen to is Mozart or Haydn inspired.

Anyway, with that said, good work. I can't say that I truly love it because it reminds me of so much classical music that I have to lump it into a general category of "standard classical". I do admire your presentation and development of themes and loved the transfer to minor around the 2 minute mark. Then the passage at ~2:20 was somewhat more original and intriguing. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I really don't pay any mind to the words of classical haters, as I really can't stand anything beyond the classical era, so again, your words are just fluff.

Well I'm sorry I commented. But to set the record straight, I do love classical music - Mozart is one of the greatest composers known to me, and Haydn is close to him in stature.

If you only wanted "This is great" and "good work" then please go show your parents your music. Otherwise try to accept what I say as the opinion of a fellow musician and not relegate it to the status of "fluff" because it wasn't fully positive.

Well, Brandon, you already know how I feel about this piece. It's brilliant.

Keep your envious fluff to yourself, cavatina.

It was very good, but if you actually want my advice, the only thing i might say is that its perhaps a little too quick.

I like the piece alot though, i particularly enjoy the turns (i just love how they sound).

Keep your envious fluff to yourself, cavatina.

I envy you, oh mighty master of music! Please have pity on me and shed your gift of superior music on me!!!

OHHH OHHH!!!! PRAISE THE PUCK! ALL PRAISE THE PUCK!

But really, you are a good musician. Just learn to take criticism and you'll become a better one.

Wait... wait... before you reply, I'll do it for you:

Puck says, "Keep your envious fluff to yourself, cavatina." See, there, I saved you a post?!

i think we should calm this down before it goes any further.

you dont need to resort to sarcasm, cavatina, although i do see your point.

and puck, this is posted in the "analysis or feedback" section as im sure you are aware.

So if you don't want negative criticism, then warn people that you dont want any.

Because everywhere else in the forum works get critiqued, and so people will do that here because that's what they expect should happen.

I think a mod should make sure this doesnt get out of hand.

I'm noone to be lecturing, but id rather this ended peacefully.

haha :( Relax, I'm completely kidding around here. I respect Puck's music very much. I'll stop commenting on his works/in this thread to "calm it down". Cheers Daniel for your diplomatic recommendation!

Puck, we are all here for much the same reasons and we all share a common interest; therefore please show more respect towards your fellow members. By the way, your piece is excellent.

cavatina, please do not instigate in future.

This sounds VERY excellent, and it's a midi. Could you make an mp3 perhaps? I'm sure an mp3 would help the quality of the piece a bit, and I'd love to hear it if you make one.

Hate to boost your ego, but nice job,

Evan

Great work! I love classical style, although I do not write in strict classical style myself.

Wonderful piece,

- Jen

Although extremely high quality, this has been judged not to be a major work on account of its short length. Moved to Orchestral.

Great piece, excellent!

Definately one of the best I have heard

here.

If this isn't a major work I may never be

able to post a piece in Major Works.

I just wonder if Mozart posted the

overture to "The Marriage of Figaro"

would it be considered a major work here

by itself. (I would think)

Jeremy

No, because it's also short.

Although it is slightly longer.

It would be even less of a major work because he spent no time composing it.

Hm...

So I guess the Overture of Mozart's

Marriage of Figaro alone is not a major

work being its only about 4 and a half

minutes long and Mozart composed it in

like two weeks time (if that).

Jeremy

No, its not a major work, being only about 5 mins.

And no, because i cant remember how long it took, but im sure it wasnt more than 2 days.

Its a fantastic overture, but it's not major piece.

The opera however...

It's good, well done, quality work ... but musically still just an imitation to me...

Hm...

Mozart's overture to Marriage of Figaro doesn't even really constitute a work - it's only the opening part of an opera, which is a major work just about any way you look at it.

Wonderful. As divine as Mozart! I give it 6 stars out of five! And, as the others have said, I want to see the opera when it's finished! :)

You're mixing your pespective again Canzano; you are thus sounding as arrogant or moreso than the composer himself. Perhaps to one he is as divine as Mozart; in my opinion he is not, however.
