Finale, Sonar and EWQLSO Silver

Featured Replies

So I just bought the EWQLSO Silver edition bundle and I'm trying to get it to work with Finale 2007 and Sonar 7 Producer edition.

With Finale I go into the vst screen, click kontakt player 2 and edit and then the kontact player comes up and when I try to load the .nki files for East West an error message pops up. I don't know if I'm completely going about it the wrong way or what.

With Sonar I have no Idea how to load Vst Instuments. If someone could help me out it would be appreciated.

You don't use Kontakt player, you have to either use some other sampler (I use Kontakt 2) or just use the included EWQL Kompakt sampler....

Copy the EWQL .dll file into the FinaleVst folder and it should come up. Unless you're on a mac, in which case you need to buy a sampler like Kontakt :(. I don't use Sonar so I can't help you there.

Well I put the ewqlso silverxp.dll in the finale vst folder and when I go to the vst menu in Finale and click on the down arrow nothing shows. When I take the silver xp .dll file out of the vst folder knotakt2 shows when I click the down arrow. I'm so confused. Can someone help me.

And you are using Windows ?

and you put the file in the folder FinaleVST (Program Files - Finale 2008 - FinaleVST)? Should work....I'm using Gold XP, but it should still work the same .

I have windows vista 64 bit. Yeah I put it in that folder.

64 bit systems are a pain in the donkey.

Yes they are, but I had problems with vst's in finale when I was using windows xp 32 bit. So who knows.

i see.

i'm more of a sibelius man myself, so can't really help much.

So I put the silverxp .dll in the folder and nothing happens. Do I have to put the silver non xp .dll in the vst folder as well? I don't have a silver cd key only xp cd key so I don't have a valid silver non xp .dll file.

reinstall EW, since it will automatically list all vst folders to install the dlls to.

I think I know what my problem is. My EWQLSO Silver xp bundle came with silver and silver xp. It came with a serial key for silver xp but not the original. The instructions said to install silver xp and to just copy the nki or nks files from the original. So as a result I have the EWQLSO silver xp. dll but not the original. When I install the vst .dll from the orignal into finale or sonar a screen pops up that says I don't have a correct cd key. And of course I don't because it didn't come with one. But this shows that they are attempting to use the regular silver.dll file. So if I can get a silver.dll file with a correct cd key I think this will solve the problem. Maybe who knows. So if somebody who has the EWQLSO silver. dll could post it I would be appreciative.

I don't know what else to try.

HA HA! I solved the problem. IT was Vista 64 bit. I bought Vista 32 bit and now everything works fine using EWQLSO SIlver with Sonar and finale. Just a side note, IT's funny how the makers of EWQLSO sound libraries promote people to start using 64 bit operating systems on their forums but not all of their software works on a 64 bit OS. WEll anyway it works now thankyou everybody who tried to help.
