Forgotten Heroes

Featured Replies

Here is one I did this afternoon.

It was fast so it is nowhere near perfect.

You really have a unique sound going there. Are you using some sort of diminished scale? I really liked the orchestrations, especially the ones about half-way through the piece with the strings, flutes and french horns. I'd would love to know what was going on at that point.

I just wish it sounded a little more cohesive. It sounded like your ideas were just floating around and bumping into each other at some points. I like the atmosphere though. You have a signature sound.

I do love Diminiished chords. Augmented ones also.

I have reworked this a little to try to make it a bit more cohesive. As I said, I did it pretty fast, so the first post was a bit rough.

Thanks

Ron

Not bad at all. Decent simulation too.

I particularly enjoyed the high strings about 5/8 through, and the orchestral bells.

By the way, the word is spelt: Heroes.

That was wonderful. I liked it a lot whatever you use for notation sounds really good what is it? well anyway, very very unique sounds and ideas and pleasing to listen to.

I type too fast for my own goood sometimes which is the explanation for Heros. The simulation comes from lots of work in Sonar with the controllers.

This is done thru Sonar 7 Studio with samples from EWQLSO Gold and GPO, so this is not done thru a notation program. I played each instrument on my keyboard, layering each of them and then played around with the CC data to present it.

Thanks guys

This is a very enjoyable piece. It does wander a bit although I would say adequately cohesive for incidental music. The way different instrumental groups rise up and then fall back to be replaced by another with a different tonal colouring gives the music motion.

For an afternoon's work plus a little revision it is mighty fine

I started on a new one pretty quick, so this one will stand as is for now. It really only is a painting in sound.

Thanks

Ron

Ron, I can't listen atm but will later today...I'll just edit this post.

The horns, flutes, and the orchestra bells were probably my favorite part. I love the overall sound of the piece. I can deal with or without cohesiveness at times but due to the overall feel I think that both would work. I felt like I was floating on air the entire time I was listening to the piece.

Wow, it's so surreal, it sounds like a soundtrack from "heroes of might and magic"... castles, elves, unicorns... It's very enjoyable and unique, fantastic work! :D

Get to it when you can.

Floating on air is always good!

Btw I tried to listen to one of yours and couldn't find the link to it.

It is always enjoyable to be told that your music is enjoyable. It only increases this effect when the person saying so also has a lot of talent.

Thanks guys
