Danny Elfman's Wanted

So I finally got around to seeing this film. I have to admit, when I saw Elfman's name on the poster I was skeptical, given the kinds of films he's done in the past. However, after seeing this film I have one thing to say: This is how you score an action flick. Thoughts?

I didn't walk away from the film with the same joy in my heart as I tend to with Danny Elfman scores, but it certainly did the job. I would have to listen to it on album a few more times to give the music a decent critique, but in the film I can't say it jumped out at me.

Having said that, I agree with you on the point that it was a very refreshing action score - I too would like to see more along these lines.

To be honest, speaking of Danny, I'm MUCH more fond of his work for Hellboy II - he came back to that rich gothic chocolatey goodness that we know and love, and it's a pleasure to listen to.

The movie annoyed me so much, I did not listen to the accompanying music...
