Hey I've had this for a while now. I think it's alright but some bits are a little dodgy ;) Like the supposed drum solo near the end. Oh dear. Anyway I was thinking about extending and improving it, what do you think?

Cheers! :)

Very good... Sorta reminds me of that song Bicycle Break by Tomas Dunker. Well done!

Tomas Dunker... awesome jazz composer!

I heartily agree.

Quite Jazzy and Rag, but the use of percussion reminds of particular Mario soundtracks. Great mood, loved it! but a little too short... ;)

Thanks :) I definitely agree it's too short, but like most of my jazz compositions I run out of ideas!! :(

The drum track reminds you of Mario? :o lol, well that was not intentional. I actually based it very heavily on Bicycle Break by the aforementioned Tomas Dunker

xD I see the mario drumming. The melody is a little cheesy for my liking. IF this was written in 1940, it would be great. However, big band music has moved on since then and now is somewhat different in style.

Lots of people like to write classical in a 19th century style... what's wrong with trying to write big band music in 1940s style? :) Or writing heavy metal 1980s style?

Surely it's just a matter of taste

Meh, just my prejudice. I HATE Glenn Miller stuff - I have had to play it since I was about 9 over and over. So things like that disagree with me.

The whole song is very cheessy to be honest. It reminds me of an opening song for some old soap opera or a modern day comedy show. I think more variation on the rthym and probably a better use of your percussion would aid you. Also, I don't believe this fits the 1940's big band scene. It isn't as up beat and pounding as it should be.

Oh  I see. Well I love Glenn Miller, but then I've never had it forced down my throat.
