A Madman's Fantasy

Featured Replies

I'm new on here, so I hope I'm doing this right. My first piece I'm posting on here was written about a year ago. I decided to include it as a bit of an extra deal on my college portfolio for University of British Columbia. I'll include a pdf and and mp3 of me playing the piece.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. This is the first of some very interesting things I would like to share with all the talented people on these forums.

You can listen to the mp3 at A Madmans Fantasy - Putfile.com

It is rather neoclassical piece. The accompaniment is misterious, characteristic. You used very interesting harmony. I recommend You to orchestrate this composition. It would be great film music.

Bar 17 to 19 quite messy. And a very interesting piece - this composition must be performed with appropriate colouring. I would like to see more of the octaves. Perhaps, leaving the octaves for a more interesting approach to the melody. Perhaps, thirds?

However, I see you have added detail extensively. I would like to see more of the dynamics, but it's fine. Well done!!!

Hey, thanks. I was planning on turning it into a larger production, but it'll take me a while to get back to this piece again. It's finished in a sense, but I think it is a good theme to work off of later.

I liked it a lot, but I`m just wondering how you came up with the title, because it doesnt, at first, seem to be really connected to the mood in the piece. It just didn`t strike me as a madmans fantasy, but that is of course just my opinion.

But I really liked it - looking forward to your next composition :).
