is there a way to import an audio file

Featured Replies

I'm trying to put a violin part to my friends band's new song.. i only have a .wav from them and i was wondering if there was a way to play it parallel to what i'm writing in finale so i can line everything up the correct way.

i hope that made sense. thanks in advance!

This is actually one of the cool new features from Finle 2008 onwards. What version are you using?

2009 how do i do this :D i'm very excited now

Go to the MIDI/Audio menu, pick Audio Track, and then add the WAV file. It should appear above the rest of your notation in Studio view, typically.

ok so i just tried loading a .wav and it says "finale cannot place this type of audio file" does this have something to do with asio drivers ?

think it was the bitrate actually.

It's possible that you might have to convert the file to a certain audio format before you can use it within Finale — check the manual, I think it has a list of compatible formats.
