Adams - I really like his relatively new post-Klinghoffer language. Very original and very personal. The degree of chromaticism and harmonic complexity allows it to transcend silly stereotypes of minimalistic music. That isn't to say his earlier stuff isn't great, too. Zwilich - I'm no postmodernist, but I like the fusion of different kinds of music in her music (which, I guess, some might say is a demonstrate that there are no "kinds", anyway). It sounds funky. Harrison Birtwistle - Awesome. Is that a good enough reason? Elliot Carter - I'm just beginning to understand him. Well, no, not really, I'm just fooling myself. But his music sounds nice.
